Lubbock's 'Cat' Carrasco shares blessings as cancer journey continues

Cataleya “Cat” Carrasco, 11, rang the victory bell June 12, 2025.

It was a milestone signaling the end of a year-and-a-half battle against a grade 3 Oligodendroglioma diagnosis confirming a cancer impacting her brain - and the beginning of a new life.

While Cataleya’s cancer has stopped growing, she has now returned to her daily activities while balancing the process of relearning to use the right side of her body and using her journey as motivation to give back to the community that helped her through her own cancer journey.
